AYE
Empower Active Young Citizens to Influence Society (AYE)
The AYE project aims to promote young people’s initiative and civic engagement and contribute to quality and innovation in Youth Work by developing a range of engaging methods, tools and a non-formal learning programme. This will foster the inclusion and civic engagement of young people, with a particular emphasis on young people at risk of marginalisation and social exclusion.
The AYE project aims to promote young people’s initiative and civic engagement and contribute to quality and innovation in Youth Work by developing a range of engaging methods, tools and a non-formal learning programme. This will foster the inclusion and civic engagement of young people, with a particular emphasis on young people at risk of marginalisation and social exclusion.
The focus of the project is on issues that are most pressing for young people today - world crises, climate emergency, peace and democracy, intercultural dialogue and multilingualism, equity and inclusion. Europe has become a more intercultural society with the urgency of the climate emergency having an impact on a broad range of communities. It is through young people that these issues will now be addressed as they become the adults of the future who will inherit the current challenges facing Europe.
The project will identify successful civic initiatives led by young people and of effective youth’s participation in civic life; develop a set of inspirational case studies - 3 case studies per country/18 case studies in total; develop 5 digital stories - short films of the most impactful and complex cases.
The project aims to stimulate, equip and support:
Young people
✓ to exercise their right to self-expression, to be active, and to play a role in society and in governance
✓ to develop their critical thinking and reflection, media literacy, intercultural competence, fact-based argumentation, and advocacy
✓ to design positive actions by showing them ways to have influence on complex global issues within their own communities and beyond
Youth Educators/Workers/Leaders
✓ in facilitating and supporting youth’s active participation in the social and civic life of the community, the country and in Europe.

The project is running for 24 months having 6 European partner organisations from Ireland, The Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Greece and France working collaboratively.
Project duration: 1st of March 2022 and 1st of March 2024.
